Our offices are equipped with comprehensive, modern,
diagnostic and therapeutic equipment. Each office has separate Sonographic
imagery, fiber optic Endoscopy (Cystoscopy), Urodynamic equipment, minor
Operating/Procedure rooms as well as Laboratories for basic analytical
services. In addition, the Fifth avenue office has Fluoroscopic (real
time X-ray) capabilities. Utilization of these examinations allows our
Doctors to expeditiously diagnose patients' problems and initiate therapy.
These services are provided on site to our patients depending on their
individual needs and thelimitations of
coverage under their insurance policies. --

Radiographic
fluoroscopic imaging (real time X-ray) is an important
tool in assessing patients with kidney obstruction and stones. State
of the art digital fluoroscopic imaging equipment is available to our
physicians at all times. These services are provided to all patients
that have medical necessity andinsurance
allowance.
-------------------
Sonographic Imaging (Air waves) is an invaluable
tool for detecting many genitourinary conditions. Both of our offices
have at hand sonographic equipment. With this non invasive tool, our
doctors can detect certain urologic problems as well as keeping track
of ongoing conditions. All our patients have access to this type of
imaging equipment as allowed byinsurance
policies.
Urodynamics:
many of our patients benefit from the therapies instituted after formal
urodynamic evaluation. This test is used to assess the appropriate muscle
and nerve interaction of the voiding (urinary) process. It is often
very helpful in directing therapy to improve a patient's urinary control
(continence). These tests are performed at both of our locations and
are performed by Dr. Kavaler at 955 Park Avenue and Dr. Armenakas at
880 Fifth Avenue. As with most procedures, Urodynamics testing usually
requires some sort of authorization by your insurance company, either
written (faxed, or by mail) or verbally over the phone with an authorization
number. Please be sure to look at our insurance information page for
more details.
Laboratory
Services:
Our office Laboratory provides analytical information to assist in assessing
the overall health of your Urinary system. Urine Analyses, Urine Cultures
and for men, Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) are performed in the office.
Surgical

Our offices are equipped with minor operating/procedure rooms. Cystoscopies
(looking inside the bladder), bladder and prostate biopsies, retrograde
pyelograms (imaging the urinary tract from the inside), stent placement
and/or stone manipulations, vasectomies and minimally invasive prostate
therapies are often performed in the office. Procedures which require
the services of an anesthesiologist are performed at the hospitals:
Lenox Hill (77th & Park) or New York Hospital (68th & York)
